XC70 2005 d5 PCV problem
Hi Everybody
New member with my first post my first Volvo and my first diesel. I bought my 2005 d5 XC70 a year ago, it has 170,000 miles on the clock and is a fab car in great condition, so far I've cleaned the ERG valve, replaced the lower engine mounts and changed the water and intercooler radiator and a couple of sensors, its now running really well, I also did a full service with the proper oil. After putting the fresh oil in I kept some in the car for topping up incase it wasn't quite full, it hasn't used any oil since I got it but when I pulled out the dipstick when it was hot I noticed a little smoke, googled this and its seemed to be a symptom of a blocked PCV system. I tried the glove test and it does inflate fully immediately. ive been searching for an online walk through on how to service this system but everything I look at seems to be for petrol engines and I can't find a set of replacement parts for this year. Think I must be missing something basic and wondered if anyone on here could enlighten me. I look forward to any advice. Thanks Ted.
