XC70 broken pcv tube
Has anyone ever had a broken pcv tube? The Volvo delaer is saying it can cause severe damage and could result in a blown engine. They say it's not a problem with some Volvo models but in the 2005 XC70 turbo it is. They want almost $2000 to repair which includes replacing the timing chain (I thought it was a belt), replace seals, etc. They say it cause a negative vacuum in the engine and doesn't let the oil flow correctly.

I am fairly certain the 2.5 Turbo in your car is the same as in mine. If you have another engine in there I could be wrong.
I beleive they are talking about this service. But if all that is broken is the tube replace just it. I think you are referring to part A in the pic http://www.ipdusa.com/Volvo-S60-P2/E...-392-928-4736/
The entire system as a whole seldomly fails. Hoses break or clogs happen. My mechanic was very honest. I went in for the PCV service and he said he would take it apart and examine it first. He did...cleared it out relace a hose and said all else was fine. I paid maybe $80.
