Default XC70 Tire recommendations

Hi,

I am looking for feedback from XC70 owners for tire recommendations. I am not having much luck finding tires for my 2005 XC70 - Ontario Canada area.

thanks!

Ive had good luck with the Yokohama Avid TRZ and the Khumo Solus KH16, both at very reasonable prices. The yokos were amazing in all aspects right down to 2/32 of wear, downside: due to the severe alignment angle on the rear of our wagons only got about 32k out of them but yoko honored the warranty and i got $210, of the original $330 (set of 4) purchase price back. my set were T rated, they now have H rated so that may change the outcome as well. Now running the Khumos and they at least handle as well as the yokos did.

I still love the Continental 4x4 Contacts that came standard on my XC70. 30,000 miles of summer driving and still going strong.

I've bridgestone insignia on my 98 xc awd and they're doing great. Not hi-po but wearing really well. Have about 50k miles on them now. The rear does wear little faster than front, so rotation is a thing. They were supposed to be 75k, or 100k I forget which, tires. They seem to be living up to that. And they do take some abuse in these Wisconsin winters and subsequent road hazards. You can't avoid all the potholes up here.

thanks!

I bought Michelins at Canadian tire for $754 installed with a 5 year warranty. They had a sale. Great tire by the way, no road noise, no vibration, drives perfectly.

Default XC70 tires

I have Goodyear Assurance tires that have been pretty good for 60,000 miles. They now require replacement. Only complaint is that they are a little noisy.
Did not know that Michelin made an all season tire for the XC70. New?
I notice that Continentals are factory equipment on at least some of the new XC70 wagons. Consumer Report gives them high grades, but they are expensive; $800 a set here in Virginia.
Would not do Pirellis again. They came on my 04 XC70, and did not make it much past 30,000 miles.
