Thinking about selling my S60 with 134k miles on it for an XC90 with only 62k miles on it. Looking for any advice I can get. Are the XC90s really as unreliable as all the things written about them in the forum?

Only negative of my S60 is it's terrible for tall people like myself. If someone sits behind, I have to scoot my seat up and my knees will almost literally be in my chin. Both have backup sensors, heated seats, leather interior.

 

Unless the trans in the XC90 was recently replaced, I wouldn't do it.

 

Thanks for your help. When I asked the dealer if the transmission had been replaced, he said "With 62k miles, I don't see why it would". Obviously, I will take my business elsewhere if this guy knows nothing about the troubles of 03-05 XC90's.

I found an 08 XC90, 132k miles, 3.2L special edition 6cyl 6A. My research from other sites and from here on the forums (https://volvoforums.com/forum/volvo-...-models-65916/) indicates it is much more reliable than the older versions. Is this true?

 

It's true. Unless you have one with an oil consumption problem. But if it has that many miles, it would have shown up a long time ago.
