Default 19 in tire options

I have a 2020 XC90 T6 with the standard 6 spoke 19 in wheels. Came with 245/55R19 Continentals. Sticker inside door says 235/55R19. When replacement time rolls around I would like to have a little more tire in the wheel well, even if the diameter is slightly increased. Has anyone done a slight bump to 255/55R19, and how did it work out?. Any other ideas without upgrading wheels? Thanks!

any time you go to a wider tread without lowering the profile, you'll be increasing the rolling circumference of your tire (meaning the speedo/odometer will be off). A couple of good resources to check our are 1) wheel-size.com which will list all the OEM tire/rim specs for your car 2) tirerack.com With tire rack you can "shop" a size like the 235/55-19s (your OEM size) to find the revs per mile then compare. It looks like a 255/50-19 will maintain your rolling circumference and give you the slightly wider skin you are interested.

I have the same year xc90 withe the same 6 spoke 19 “ wheel, factory supplied continental 245/55r19 tire , and 235/55r19 sticker inside the door. I too would like to try a 255/55r19 A/S tire, not just to be a little wider but a little bigger all around. I think it would fill the wheel well better and improve the stance. I have done the calculations and understand the increased width, diameter, and rolling circumference.
The question is, how did it work out and were there any problems?
