Currently looking for a 7-Seater car for the family as a run-around. Expect to be running it for 12-18months.

Have a budget of circa £6400 and found a number of 2003, 2004 and even a 2005 available currently (although most quite some distance away).

General day-to-day useage will only be round-trips of less than 10 miles so I'm assuming a Petrol engine will be better suited than Diesel.

Mileage on these cars will be circa 100k-120k (although have seen some as much as 220k)

On this age of XC90, is there anything in particular I should be particularly wary of?

the 6 cylinder engine for those years uses a transmission that as been reported to fail.
