Question 2003 XC90 T6 AWD Smoke and P0234

I went and looked at a XC-90 6T AWD today and the thing smoked like a steam engine train. It also did not have any power. Preformed like a red block. I checked for codes, it has a P0234 but no CEL.

There was a dark spot under the truck, may be oil, the tail pipe has some wetness as well. While running no smoke came from the oil dip stick (when pulled) but when I turned the car off lots of this white smoke came out.

Looked at to fix or to buy?

Sounds like a blown turbo.

Edit- just saw the video. It needs at least one turbo replaced.

That's what I was thinking. Can I tell by touching the turbo fins or will I need to pull them?

Another question would be, which turbo's will fit? Are these LPT that come on the S70 GLT?

You can usually tell by just taking off the charge air pipe and looking into the pipes that go from each turbo to the charge air pipe. If one is full of oil and the other isn't, you've found your problem.

I did have one not too long ago where the oil wasn't too bad in either pipe. So I stuck my inspection camera into the tube to check the fins and saw the impeller had actually seized and gouged into the sides of the housing.

As for what turbos will fit, we don't do mix and match stuff at the dealer, but I'm pretty sure only a T6 turbo will fit.
