Hello,

I am experiencing a rattle sound from the front end when I go over bumps at low speed. I had the ball joints replaced by a mechanic who I've recently left for another mechanic because he failed to fix the problem because I still have the same rattle. After inspection by another mechanic, I'm being told that its probably the sway bar links. I don't think its the spring seats, which I believe sit on top of the struts? Someone else told me it could also be the sway bar bushings. Has anyone ever experienced this problem?

Probably the links? Any competent mechanic can very easily check the links to be sure they are bad.

 

Thanks. The car has 90K miles on it and runs strong.

 

Guessing over the internet, I would bet on links. Sway bar bushings are not common at all on the XC90 but I've replaced hundreds of links.
