Should be a little access panel below the steering column. Google an image of an OBDII port if you don't know what it looks like. Also, you can take the car to any AutoZone, Advance Auto Parts, etc. and they should be able to read basic codes for you for free in the hopes you will buy the part from them.

Found it. Was able to communicate with the vehicle but there were no codes to read?? The dummy light is still on but no codes? What did I do wrong? lol went through the whole menu from start to finish with the code reading unit at Advance Auto? Nothing. Whe I start up the vehicle it does state in the message area bottom left of dash that the security system needs service? Then it clears
