Hi, I have an 04 T6 with 47000 miles. I just had the drivers side driveshaft off to change a CV boot and I notice the output shaft from the transmission is really loose. There is alot of play in this and if I pull it outwards there is a knocking sound. Is this normal, or has a bearing failed. Please help as I will take this up with the dealer as my warranty just expired. I have been complaining of a knocking sound from the left front of the car for the past year. The dealer says the front end is tight. Today I removed the entire strut assembly and sure enough all looks good. The only thing I can figure is this output shaft issue.
