Default 2004 Volvo S60 Electrical issue? Maybe transmission?

Hello, I am new to these forums. I have been driving a 2004 Volvo S60 Turbo for about 4 years now. The transmission has been acting up the last few months. It clunks going into forward and then clunks when going back into Drive. then after about 20 feet forward it makes a wierd click noise and the lights dim for just a second then everything is fine. The last 2 months I have had a most interesting problem arise. While driving down the freeway during long drives. If i drive for over roughly 1.5 hours. The car will surge for a second and then I will lose all electrical but the car stays running and driving. The lights will come back on after a split second but the dash will say rear drivers side door is open and Brake system failure stop vehicle now. But everything is still working. If i dont stop the car after this happens it will do it again. I have found that if i shut the car down every hour for like 5 minutes it doesnt do it on my 5 hour drives. My check engine light never comes on so I can never get it into the shop to have someone run the diagnostic on it. There has also been a few instances of this where It wont happen but when i shut the car down after a long drive then try and open the doors they wont open with the remote. I will open the door with the key and start the car and there will be no electrical but it starts. When this happens if i stick it in reverse or forward it hits really hard. I then need to disconnect the battery to reset the system in order for this to clear up.
I can go into detail more but want to see what you all think?
