2005 Volvo xc90 t6
I am considering purchasing a 2005 Volvo xc90 t6, it has 140 thousand miles on it. Both rear wheel bearings have been replaced, passenger side cv axle has been replaced. Transmission was re-built at 90 thousand miles.
I love it and I love the way it drives, and the price is very good.
But I have a pretty big concern about it, and that's with the transmission.
I haven't read anything good about the transmission that's in it.
I read they run hot and burn up easy. I am thinking maybe I can take some steps to keep the transmission going good.
Deep tranny pan to add more fluid to help with cooling, an aftermarket transmission cooler to also aid in cooling and a quality synthetic atf to also help aid in cooling.
If I took these steps to help it, would I still end up having problems with the transmission? Is there any other steps I can take to keep the transmission going good? Is there any other known issues with this model that I should be aware of?
