Default 2005 XC90 Climate control/Electrical issues

Hello,

I have a 2005 XC90 T6 AWD over the weekend i installed a aftermarket radio (the old radio remains inside and connected to not throw up any errors) The new radio is connected from the old CD/ cigarette lighter, the rest of the sound cables were connected from the inside of the console. The cables from the steering wheel were connected to an adapter to the new radio (the new radio works fine with all its feature's including the steering wheel controls). My problem is that the climate control panel has stopped working along with the driver's door controls, ceiling lights, sunroof and the remote unlock/lock. I have also noticed a ticking sound inside of the console that was not there previously.

I am unsure of what to do so far i have read that the ICM/CCM system may need to be reprogrammed, i have disconnected the battery for a few hours but no change remains. I'm asking if any of you know of something i could try in order to try fixing it or if i did something wrong with the radio install.

Thank you for all your help !

Hey!

I did resolve it, what had happened was i messed up on the wiring i’m not 100% sure where but one of the wires either wasn’t soldered correctly or was left without re connecting. I recommend you go back and make sure all your soldering is good and that all of the wires are connected as that helped me ! Im 99% sure it was just one wire that wasn’t soldered together so try looking for that first!

thank you that gives me hope , I bought the 2010 xc90 with this issue thinking it was just a simple fix , the car has a after market double din , it doesn’t have the original radio still plugged as I saw on a install video that must still be kept plugged as you stated you still have inside the hole . So I ordered one so do the same step , but will now open it all up and check all the wiring to the double din and other wires to make sure it’s all connected right . Thank you very much
