2005 XC90 V8 - Check Engine Light
I have a 2005 XC90 V8 with roughly 6K miles. Today the check engine light came on and did not go off on its own. Gas cap is plenty tight, so there is no apparent fault there. No messages have flashed up on the message center.
The car seems to run just fine... no obvious issues there...
My first question: is there a way to diagnose which fault is causing the check engine light to come on without a scanning tool?
My second question: I seem to remember that 'check engine' lights coming on were a pretty common problem with XC90's... if anyone has any ideas on a typical issue that might be causing this, I would appreciate any insight.
Thanks!

Sorry kartman, you'll have to go see your friendly neighborhood dealer and his Vida computer. it's under warranty isn't it? they'll be really nice to you because you'll show up on their CSI scores
Thanks to all for your help... took it to the dealer today and indeed it was a evaporative fuel system issue... got a software update and good to go. Excellent service at my dealer (Maple Hill Volvo in Kalamazoo, MI) and everything was done at no cost.
I'm pissed it happened, but the dealer took good care of me!
Thanks!
