I recently bought a 2006 xc90 4.4 awd...it needs the driver side seatbelt replaced. I ordered a used one and just received it. The seatbelt is locked into the retracted position. I can't pull the belt out from the spool...browsing the forums I found a few posts that state the seatbelt is a non servicable part and if it gets stuck it's no good. Is this true or does the little 2 pin connector (electronic) release the seatbelt. Info would be helpful before I start taking stuff apart. Thanks

 

Nevermind, the seatbelt orientation is very sensitive. If held in a perfectly vertical position the locking mechanism releases.
