2007 3.2 XC90 ONE SIDED Brake/Backup Light Problem
So, I’ve done quite a bit of research on this issue and 99% of what I’ve found is information regarding pre 2006 models that have relays for brake lights. It’s my understanding that my 2007 XC90 has transistors built into the REM for the brake lights. Someone correct me if I’m wrong.
My my issue is that my drivers side backup light and brake light are not working. I just got done fixing all the other codes on this vehicle and the “check stop lamp” is all I have left to do before I can renew my inspection/registration. The passenger side and the top brake light on the trunk door still work fine, btw.
I’ve taken the drivers side tail light assembly off and all the wiring looks good. I’ve checked all fuses and they are good and free of corrosion. I’ve checked the grounds to each bulb socket and they are also good. I attached a picture of the board that holds the fuses that I found online. Clearly this is very different from the REM that DO shave resistors.
I have yet to find any write ups or info on solutions for this issue. I’ve seen some say they replace the tail light switch, but I don’t think that’s it because wouldn’t both left and right sides be out? And I doubt that has anything to do with the one backup light being out... I’ve also read some posts where the entire board needs to be replaced?
If anyone has any valuable information on how to resolve this issue please share! I’m at a loss... Also worth mentioning, I have disconnected the batter for more than 5 minutes, reconnected, and nothing was reset. So I’m at a loss. Help me please!
