2007 xc90
Hey guys,
I have the '07 XC90 3.2 AWD. Been having intermittent problems with bulb light failure and multiple bulb light failures. The bulbs themselves checkout. I go to check the connections and all are snug and tight. It's always either the left rear top marker light or the right low/hi beam light.
What could be causing this???
Thanks

One interesting thing that I read which might inform your problem:
One poster claimed that when you change bulbs you should change both sides of the same bulb type (even if the other one doesn't need to be changed) because the Volvo failure sensor is tripped by reading either a different voltage or amperage between the left and right side of the same bulb type. And often the replacement bulb can have a slightly different voltage than the one that doesn't need to be replaced and thus will trip the failure sensor even though the light itself works.
I know that when I changed both of my position lights with the same bulb type, the failure warning went away and I haven't had a problem since.
I have a similar issue...my driver side low beam and rear running lights work intermittently. The front low beam has now stopped working for good. However, the rear running lights only come on sometimes. If they are off I can tap the lens cover and they come on. It's only the lights on the driver side. Fuses and bulbs are fine, not sure what it could be.
Thanks for any help!

I think there are 2 different issues being discussed in the thread - lights not coming on, and false bulb out warnings (the lights are actually coming on). if the bulbs aren't coming on, I would trace and clean up the grounding points (clean them with wire brush). the false warnings are annoying and I would try cleaning the contacts or replacing the bulbs.

I am having a similar problem as the original poster. My left low beam bulb went out. I replaced both sides at the same time. Then about a week later my left low beam went out again. I called the parts store about the warranty on the bulbs and when I went to remove the current bulbs, I noticed the bulb looked okay. I plugged it back in and it worked. I wiggled the wiring and the bulb never went out. So I left the bulb in. The next morning I pulled into the store and could see my headlights in a snowbank. The left bulb went out. When I came out and started the vehicle, both bulbs were on.
I was thinking I may replace the bulbs again to see if it was a bad bulb but after seeing this thread, I might not be so lucky.
