Happy ending with DOA 2007 XC90
Picked up a brand new 2007 XC90 a few weeks ago from Volvo Country in Bridgewater, NJ. The battery indicator light and an urgent service message came on two days later. Brought it back to the dealer for repair. They said they fixed something in the wiring harness and sent me on my way. The same light and message came on the next day. They said the alternator was defective and overcharged the battery and fried the wiring harness. Since the replacement parts were backordered, they really had no choice but to replace the car (the NJ lemon law would have kicked in). They were very professional about the whole thing and turned what could have been a very unpleasant situation into a quick resolution. Kudos to them.
