2007 XC90 Current Status..a good vehicle in my opinion
3.2 Lt AWD. I bought this car in 2009 with 45000 kms on it. It gets about 12.5 Lt/100 kms as reported by the dash computer. As of today it has 105,000 kms. It get's driven every day and I have two young boys that are as rough as hell and it stands up very well to my lifestyle. I have owned Honda, Volkswagen, Suzuki, Dodge, and Chevrolet, so far this is the best vehicle I've owned. It rides well, it performs well and it looks good. For Canadian climate, it's ideal.
The brakes have been done only once, all around (rotors included). The car gets the regular scheduled maintenance at the dealer.
I have had a few problems but nothing worth losing my mind over (IMO).
1. The rear door latch had to be replaced, rusted and inoperable.
2. The remote sensor had to be replaced, apparently this was the solution for running the battery dead, recommended by the dealer and it worked.
3. Park Brake cables were slack and required replacement.
4. Wheel bearings in front were replaced, noisy when turning.
Ongoing issues that are a bit of a pain but I can live with.
1. The Park brake will not hold. The brakes and cables have been adjusted. Dealer says this is a common problem and is difficult to fix. The car is an automatic so it stays put anyway.
2. The glove box pops open every now and then, a bit annoying.
3. The suspension does has a few rattles in the rear, not sure what this is yet, still investigating.
All in all, I think this is a good vehicle. I will definitely buy another Volvo, but considering how well this one is holding up, I doubt that will be any time soon.
My 2 cents.... your comments and feedback are welcome..
