Default 2008 XC90 3.2 Air Filter Question

Hi,

I am planning to replace the engine air filter on my 2008 XC90 3.2 liter engine. Does anyone know if there is a DIY already posted somewhere? If not can someone post the procedure, it seems straight forward but I just want to make sure that I am not missing something. Thanks

Hi I have recently replaced my air filter. I have an 07 XC90 3.2. Let me see if i can do a DIY . But what i did to give u a hint was the following.

1. Grab the bottom piece of the air filter cover. If your facing the cover from the front of the car that would be on your left side.

2. Slowly PULL it straight up and it's only fasten by clips.
3. If your facing the car then the cover will go up from Left to Right as it's hook up to a hinge on the right side of the car.

4. After you remove the cover, You will need TORX screw drivers to remove another cover to remove the air filter.

5. Install new air filter and re-do the installation in reverse from above. I'll see if i can do DIY with pictures.

good luck and be careful to remove the top cover first as it's hold only by plastic fasteners.
