hello guys...i have a 2009 xc90..i notice the inner high beams do not come on with the outer high beams...can anyone explain? new bulbs and i checked all fuses...i posted a picture with the bulb circled in red....thanks for your help
The outside, larger lenses are your low beams, aka regular headlights, and the inside smaller lenses will come on in addition to the outside ones when you flip your highbeams on.
Those are not high beams if you have HID outer bulbs. They are the daytime running lamps (if programmed) and/or "flash to pass" lights" (HID bulbs have a warm up time - so don't work if you want to simply flash your lights - therefore the inner ones with normal bulbs are used for that)
With HID bulbs the single outer bulbs are both high and low beam - the bulb changes angle and is focused further down the road for high beam.
hi there thanks for the reply! it seems like the outer bulb has low beam and high beam! this is weird...nothing seems to be modified, the inside lamp does not come on with anything
If you want DRL's enabled, it is done through the computers in the car. You would need a dealership or an indy with VIDA. I do not recall if an advanced car scanner can enable them.
