Trying to figure out the headlamps on a 2012 R Design. The low beams seem to be pretty pathetic. Are these halogen or bi-xenon? Is the inner part a sensor or is this supposed to be a light that is not lighting up. Also, when checking the fuses there was no fuse in the auxiliary lights fuse position. What are the auxiliary lights? All the other lights seemed to work.
The outer eyeball lights are zenon/HID that can turn with the steering wheel if programmed. If you are not happy with the light output - HID bulbs can degrade over time (and change color slightly) - however new ones can be expensive. The inner bulbs are high beams if you have H11 on the outside. If you have HID outside bulbs they can be daytime running lamps or maybe your flash to pass lights.
If they are too low - there is an adjustment for that.
I see the blue tape where it looks like someone has been polishing them hopefully clear again!
I got the inner lights to light up. I guess they are DRLs. They will go on only if it is light out and the light switch is in the off position. Seems pretty useless as with the auto off feature we just keep the light switch in the on position and that puts the low beems on. Maybe the thought is that using these will extend the life of the HIDs.
