2016 T-6 Momentum - Won't crank
Hi,
My son's 2016 XC 90 T-6 started acting up yesterday as follows; started the car after sitting idle (3 hrs) got to first stop light and the auto stop invoked and then the car wouldn't start. After a few times of trying, it finally started and he drove it home and parked it. When out to start it this morning, no response, not turning over and all you hear under the hood is what sounds like electronic switches going on but it will not turn over.
FYI - the main battery is fully charged and the auxiliary battery was replaced about 8-10 months ago. .
There were no error messages whatsoever when it stopped at the light or on the drive home thereafter. There are no messages now, it is just a dead player.
Any feedback would be appreciated.

Find the location of the starter, locate the positive cable coming to the starter, it should be red in color and there is a black plastic cover over the connection. If it's like the 2016 it will not be easy to get to.
First try and tap the connection with a screwdriver or something you can get down to it. Tap it or try and move it a little and see if it starts. If it does, you are going to have to get to the starter connection and tighten it.
If that doesn't affect it, then try and pop the cover off and take a open end wrench (I believe its 12 mm) and see if its loose, if so try to tighten it holding the connection cable so you don't move the metal housing on the starter connection. The little base plate of the connection on the starter could move enough to hit up against something else and ground out. Once you have accomplished that try to start it. If it starts obviously it was loose.
I want to let you know, eventually we ended up changing the starter out and it's run fine every since.
