My 2017 XC90 power to the liftgate (through remote, buttons on liftgate and button on front dash) stopped working suddenly. The only time I’ve had issues in the past was when there was something blocking it from closing. I can unlatch the liftgate with the remote or manually but I have to manually open and close it. I tried the instructions for resetting just in case it had somehow been set to stop at a certain level but that didn’t help. Any ideas before I go to the dealer?

 

The only thing i'd suggest is making sure the sensors are not covered in mud? But that would only prevent it from closing, not opening.
Fuse would be the next place to look. If it's under warranty I'd like the dealership sort it out for you.
