Wondering if there are any options to create a storage compartment under the trunk deck with the spare tire on my new 2021 T6? The 2019 T5 I just turned in had a really nice (carpeted) space under the trunk deck, but this new model just has it all filled in with foam supports. My T5 also had the stand-up grocery bag holder, which I assume was part of the package (I don't have that either in the T6).

 

I didn't see any kind of factory option when we ordered our T8 so I doubt it. Can always ask the dealership but I think this would be a custom thing if you really wanted it.

 

I talked to the dealer a few day ago, and he confirmed that Volvo doesn't offer that anymore. What I didn't ask was whether it was possible to find the parts to that older setup and see if it would fit.

It doesn't mention anything about the carpeted insert that goes below, around the spare tire.

 

Since we're on the trunk topic - I just took delivery of our 2021 Momentum T6 and was surprised there was no retractable luggage cover?! For this price point you'd think that would be included.

 

Yeah, I remember being annoyed by that when I purchased my first XC90. Do you have the charcoal interior? It's pretty dark back there with the tinted windows, not sure about blonde though.

Yeah - the trunk area is charcoal even with the blond leather - but still - on a bright sunny day you can see right into the trunk.
I get it that the cover doesn't work when the 3rd row is up - but I'd have liked seeing a smaller cover that DOES work with the 3rd row up. Seems like a big oversight.

 

Yeah I used to have an Acura MDX and the cargo cover will move back to a secondary position to cover the space behind the third row, with this models you can't oh well. I think is also an oversight but we can't fix it and I have not seen any covers that will work. But my third row seats are not always up, so for me is not a big deal bit definitely agree. Love the XC90 compared to my old Acura MDX, big upgrade for me.
