We purchased a new 2023 XC90 Recharge in January. A few days ago, we got the following error (attached pic):

Drive to workshop
Propulsion system
Service urgent

We took the car straight to the dealer. Today they've told me they were unable to find any cause but updated some internal software.

How common is this on the XC90 recharge? We had no idea this was an issue before purchasing. I've seen a similar error mentioned a lot in XC40 forums, but I can't find any info in the context of XC90s. Whatever this is, it basically bricks the car until you take it to a dealer. We're glad we weren't out of town, but confidence in this car is pretty low now.

 

I got the same message on my 2023 XC60 Mild Hybrid, but I’m 150 miles from home. Closest Volvo dealer is 90 miles. My local Volvo service told me I can drive it, but I don’t know if I can trust it, especially on the highway.
