I have a 2012 AWD xc90 and when applying a hard acceleration the car seems to jolt. You can feel in your seat. Doesn’t do it at idle, or when cruising. Just when accelerating hard (like on-ramp acceleration). No check engine light. No smoke out the tailpipe. Thoughts anyone? Thanks!

 

does the transmission shift gears just prior to the "jolt" ? Google "volvo shift flare" to see if some of the descriptions match your symptoms. The other thing I'd look into is motor mounts etc to make sure your not feeling the engine move around due to a broken mount.

 

If we drop a gear for faster acceleration then yes it does. It also does it while staying in the same gear. I’ll look into the mount! Thank you!
