Default Aftermarket Tranny Cooler?

04 T-6 67K

I have been doing some reading about the seemingly unavoidable transmission issues these model years seem to have. I don't have any symptoms yet but want to be proactive about trying to prolong the current tranny. I noticed some people have saidfailure could possibly be attributed to seal failure in the radiator and coolant seeping in. Has anyone put an aftermarket cooler on their XC? If sowhat size would you go with?

Iwasgoingto change the fluid in the tranny and want to be sure I do it correctly. Can someone correct my steps if I am wrong:

Drain by disconnecting one of the coolantinlet lines to the tranny?
Fill through the ATF check tube?
What kind of ATF would you use? Synthetic or OEM Volvo brand?
Any potential pitfalls to look out for?
