airbag warning light reset

airbag warning light reset
I removed the 2nd row of seats from my 2007 XC90 to create extra luggage space.
The middle seat had an electrical connection which I just unplugged, this caused the airbag warning light to come on on the dash messages.
When I put the seats back and reconnected the electrics the airbag warning message remained on.
How do I reset the warning message?
I do not have a decoder

Turn ignition position 1
Press and hold the odometer reset button
Turn ignition to position 2 (continue to hold odometer reset button)
After the Service Light flashes, release the reset button.
Tip: Do not wait for the light to stop flashing. Release the reset button within 5 seconds from the beginning of flashing. this should reset the service light. you must be in t1 for the reset to work it will not reset in t2 mode.

that's the process for resetting the service interval (aka service reminder) light. As hoonk noted, to clear a SRS fault code you need to use an OBD2 scanner that supports the chassis code set (not all scanners do so). Check in with a local Autozone etc to see if they loan OBD2 scanners that can read SRS codes. Around here in NY/CT they loan them for free :-)
