Default All Seasons Any Good in Snow?? New T6 On Order

Greetings - 1st post...
I just placed an order on a 2021 T6 XC90.
I've always wanted a volvo but have so far just had mostly German Vehicles. This XC90 is replacing my wife's 17' Mini Countryman - I drive an Audi S4 with snow tires in the winter and my summer car is a supercharged S2000 in mint condition.
The build I ordered comes with 21 inch rims and whatever all season tire these come with (I'm not sure what the brand is).
I've always run dedicated snow tires on all of my vehicles that see winter action (I live in Minnesota)... and so I'm curious if anyone can share their experience with the all seasons in a 21 inch size in the snow...? Can anyone even tell me what the tire brand and type is that comes on these? Any good in the snow? Or should I order myself a set of snows? We take delivery in a few weeks so right at the beginning of our snowy season.

Thanks!!
Looking forward to this new community and taking ownership of the new rig - it's a beautiful SUV!

Here are a few pics of my wife's CM we've just sold. It was a really fun car:

Really depends on how you drive but I've always used snows here in CT even on AWD cars. I You can get by w/o them but figure you'r giving up 30% more braking distance so its not just about getting up to speed. If you live in a hilly area, its even more important. Check if your dealer or local tire shop offers free winter change overs - otherwise consider buying a set of winter rims where you can go shorter to have taller side walls for pot hole protection as well.

Thanks... I too have always run snow tires on dedicated rims on all my vehicles now for the past 15 years - our current vehicles are AWD... and I agree with your thoughts. I don't think I'd be happy with all seasons...
I'll go with 19's for snows with Micheline X-Ice tires.
I swap my own wheels out... It's a 20 min job with the right equipment. You can see in the pics above my second sets of wheels on the walls

It's actually much more cluttered than normal - we're finishing our basement so all the "junk" from down there is under the S2000 which is up on the lift. Can't wait to get it all out of the garage again

I went ahead and ordered a set of Nokian R3 Snow tires on 19 inch rims for winter... I'm just so used to proper snow tires that I'm sure I would not be happy with the All Season tire performance.

I've had my new T8 out in the snow on the stock 22 inch all seasons. They handled it just fine. But then again they have a full amount of tread being they only have 900 miles on them. Didn't even have to use the AWD.

Of course you'll get much more traction out of winter tires though, I used to run them on my old SRT-4 and it handled snow like a champ! Big difference is 1/2 worn down All seasons compared to 1/2 worn winter tires. Then it's a WORLD of difference since snow tires have such deeper tread.
Also from MN!

I am using Firestone "all-season snow tires" on my 2005 XC90 V8.

First snow with them on today in Illinois. They are simply fabulous!
