My daughter has a 2005 Volvo XC90 (t6)........... Would be very nice for her to have an auto car starter installed (Up state NY is VERY cold)..........Christmas is fast approaching and I would like to steal her car (literally) and have this installed............ BUT...........I have heard conflicting opinions about this......... Some say it can't be done...... Some say it can be done, but will void the factory warranty.......... What's the straight scoop, does any one know for sure. I have sent Volvo numerous E-mails on this subject, to date I have gotten NO RESPONSE............ Maybe they are too busy trying to straighten out the "self induced "Detroit Dilemma" Thanks, Marty

I think there is a fine line there.
Also most places that install it want a spare key to tape under the cover and use hte chip in the key for the immoblizer setup.
