Default awd helo!!

i have an 05 volvo xc90 awd v8 with 139000 miles on it.

every thing was fine, then one day told me to service awd.

less than a week later awd went out and it was front wheel drive only. i only drove it 16 miles after awd went out.

i did 2 burn outs while in fwd only. (hard not too) both tires spun.

jacked it up and rear wheels not connected to front wheels (rear free spins)

so i take the tcase out (not fun) tcase works fin on bench???? take it apart and its full of fluid (dont know what kind stinks but has redish tint?) no broken parts found? no shavings in oil? the barrings are good? coupler is not cracked all teeth look good????? so now im at a loss?

now to part B
when i took off the skid plate i noticed that the trany is leaking pretty bad (never leaked a drop of anything on my new garage floor)

looks like front seal is out on tranny???? can low trany fluid make the awd not work? cant see how if both fronts are spinning?

any help would be great whats going on here??

With all four wheels off the ground and the car in drive, was the prop shaft spinning?

I doubt its a mechanical problem in the rear differential. AOC pump, DEM and DEM pressure/temperature are all way more common.

Thats normal.

A mechanical fault in the differential won't set a warning light.

Sometimes, its worth paying a diagnosis fee to avoid wasting hours of time taking the whole car apart for no reason.
