Default bad remote-covered by warranty?

as above-our remote now takes 2-3 presses to lock/unlock the car. We used it since we bought the car. the other remote is practically new and works fine.
I wonder if the bad one is covered by factory warranty.

thanks

tech,
thanks a lot again-can you think of a y reason for motor oil (very small amount) to be on top of the transmission?
Its a v-8, is there any sensors/holes on the driver's side where oil could leak?

thank you

I have not seen all that many V-8's since I am not at the Dealer anymore. Not sure where it can be coming from. Have them look at it as well when you get the remote looked at.

if your other remote is ok then I'd say you need a new one. It's covered

If you're still under Factory warranty, Just take it to the dealer and let them deal with it.. Chances are they will just swap it out and program it to your vehicle...That's the easiest solution.... Don't I wish I had a warranty of sorts, mine is my credit card!

it expires in 3 months, so I want to check/fix everything I can...
after that I will be in the same shoes

The leak turned out to be transmission fluid from under transmission computer which sits on top of the tranny-there is a sensor that goes into the tranny, and O-ring seal was not good.
