Default Black Plastic Treatment

The one thing about the XC90 exterior that I do not like is the amount of black plastic that surounds the vehicle.
What does everyone use to keep their black plastic "black" or from fading? Does anyone know if Volvo recommends anything? I know thereare sveral products out there, I am sure some are better than others.......

Hi,

Some people use "Kiwi" shoe polish (originally from Australia), heat gun, spray paint, etc... So far people seem to be happy with Kiwi.

1. Kiwi Shoe Polish

2. Forever Black

3. Back to Black

4. Paint (Either black or OEM paint color)

Paint????? The black plastic I am refering to is unpainted, color in the material, and with some texture. I would not think paint would be a good option, or if it would even stick (very long).

Ok well many people have painted their trim on their 850's and it looks great and sticks well and stays on fine.

But w/e.

One clarification, it is Kiwi shoe dye, not polish. I used it on my sons 850 and it is holding up well. Any scuffs, etc. are easy to touch up.

I sucked.

BTW, paint would stick well if you first use primer and sand it with #1500 sandpaper. But Kiwi is definitely easier.

Thanks, shoe dye makes a bit more sense. #1500 sandpaper would be a chore, circular grinder might help a bit. [sm=roll.gif] haha

Hey Burke 031, the Trimshine looks interesting. How is it when it gets on the painted surface? Is it a mess, easy to get off? Or does it just add some cloudyness like other treatment products?
