There are a few options.
1. Kiwi Shoe Dye. Yeah it sounds weird but it works.
2. Forever Black
3. Color match it to your paint. This is a great idea and looks good.
4. Also IPD USA has other products that will do the same thing. I believe they sell Forever Black as well.

And this is real input I have seen it with my own eyes that what I mentioned above does work. Go search Volvospeed and you will find out for yourself.

RE: Product for black plastic....
I tried Forever Black about 4 months ago and the stuff has really worked well.
The areas that I treated look basically the same as when I first did them.
In order to apply it you first clean the plastic with a cleaner that they supply and
then apply the dye. The dye applicator is like a giant Magic Marker and is pretty
easy to use. In fact when the stuff is first applied it looks like black permanent
marker with an irridescent oily look (you don't suppose...?).
I found that it took 2 coats and the next day it appeared a little streaky so I scrubbed
it with a dry scrub brush and then rubbed it with a dry rag. This got rid of most of the
oily appearance and evened out the streakyness a lot. Within a few days the streakyness
/oiliness disappeared and it has looked great ever since.
I've heard that some products can rub off on your clothes and others wash off quickly.
Although it would look nice I didn't have time to prepare my bumpers for paint. I've
had problems with paint in the past...cracking,flaking,chipping, and every little scratch
and imperfection showing through the paint.
I've never used IPD products but I've heard of others that were pleased with the results. I
don't know if their spray-on bumper coatings are paint or dye.

RE: Product for black plastic....
Hey Matt
Funny you ask...I just did mine yesterday afternoon. After doing the 3hour/3step cleaning, polishing, waxing job I do...theres streaks of white on the black plastic from traces of the other products.
My favorite is this stuff you can get at AutoZone for around $5 or $6 and is out by Mothers.
It's in a red bottle and called: "Back to Black"
Here's the info: http://www.autogeek.net/motbactrimca.html
It's just a cream, and you can put it on inafairly thickcoat and kind of rub it into the surface ina circular motion - thenjust let it sink in. They reccommend you buff it off, but I just leave it on unless theres too much. After it sinks into the plastic, especially our trim molding and bumpers, it looks BRAND NEW. And lasts a long time.

I've used the Mother's Forever Black and it works fantastic. However, make sure you habe BLACK plastic and not grey. If you have grey, there is a grey trim dye at IPD which works equaly as well...
I see you have a 240, that most likely has grey if I remember correctly. At least my '88 240dl had grey trim.

Here is a link to a website where the author has tested these
products (excluding IPD products). It has photos of the results
both when the products are first applied and after a short period
of time. As you can see, some of these products last longer than
others.

I wish someone would do this with IPD products.
