Default Bluetooth Options?

Greetings everyone, good to be back in a Volvo again

Yesterday, I brought home a 2006 XC90 AWD with a perfect maintenance history & 123600 miles.......it's almost flawless.

EXCEPT.....I cannot find any RECENT posts for decent aftermarket Bluetooth options for the 2003 - 2007 XC90. I want one that's more permanent as opposed to one that just plugs in my 12V outlet or something. My local Car Audio place is quoting $299 - $399 installed - does that sound reasonable? I've seen info for GROM, Dension, Motorola, Parrot, etc. but have no idea what's been working for people & what I should stay away from. Any advice would be greatly appreciated - thanks everyone.

Yep.............I'm having no luck. I have my local car audio guy going to do a test on a simple Parrot model. I just need a hands-free phone option, don't need a display or have it show on the radio panel or anything. I will add to this if their installation is successful. He said I have a great vehicle, just a cursed era for aftermarket :-(

I have put my own in. I am using a Parrot MKI9100. It took some investigation and splicing into the output lines of the amp, but works fine. For a professional install I would say the time involved would be about 3 hours for a clean job. so, 3 hours plus the cost of the parrot (200) would be up around 500 bucks I would guess. There is a motorola TK30 out there on the market. I had that first. It failed after about 3 months. It was cheap, and didn't work well.

HA! I deserve to be called out......sorry. I couldn't make my original appointment & haven't been back to reschedule yet - but he was confident the Parrot would work - not sure of the model number, but it's the low-end, no frills model with no screen. He was pretty confident the entire job, installed, including purchase of the Parrot, would be $300ish, which I didn't find totally offensive. It's on the to-do list sometime in the next couple months. Need to move to our new house first - ugh.

I just ordered a Bluetooth piece for my car. There is a company called Blitzsafe and they have one that looks pretty interesting. I haven't received it yet. I should get it by next week. I have used there auxiliary and it worked great. I looked at the other companies and this one seemed like it had more features and was a better price at $130.00 and I can do it myself.

Thumbs up Blitzsafe Bluetooth BlitzBlue G2

I got my Blitzsafe BlitzBlue G2 and added it to my Volvo about a month ago. I wanted to post this after I had a chance to use it a few weeks. I couldn't be happier with the quality. It was so easy to install and now I have hands free calls and music streaming from my iPhone with just the touch of the small button which controls everything. My calls are clear and no problem with the person on the other end hearing me. It also has an additional auxiliary on the bluetooth box if I want to add something else. I am very happy with the sound and the quality.
