Default Cabin Air Filter OEM vs Aftermarket

Can anyone tell me why the aftermarket filters are thinner compaired to the OEM cabin filters?

I am scepticle because of the differences. I looked at the SPT, WIX, NAPA, purlator, and carquest cabin filters. When I pulled my OEM filter I was shocked at the diferences. I did notice there are 2 slots in the compartment?

Please clarify and tell me which aftermarket filter is the best?

Thank you,

hstro

Then this system uses the BIG filter, which has charcoal in it and fits into the second slot in the filter compartment, aftermarket manufacturers probably do not know about the big one and are selling you the small one, the slots on it will be mirrored I guess you could say, take the filter out and look in there, you will see, the small filters you can remove the 2 screws in front and bend it to get it out, but the big one requires all 4 to be removed. Hope this helps.

The only benefit of having an aftermarket part is that they tend to drive down the cost of OEM parts.

You can get the big filter online from autohausAZ or IPD.
