Car battery dead and Recharging leads to alarm sounds
I have a 2010 Volvo XC90. The battery of my car is dead. When I try to turn the key in the ignition, nothing happens. There is no "click click " sound. Also when I try to recharge it, the alarm of the car goes off. I tried turning the key while charging and unlocking the doors and nothing happens. I am not sure if its a starter issue or a battery issue. The car has trouble starting if you do not use it for few days. Just need some advice please?

you may want to try disconnecting the battery then charge "off line" to avoid the alarm triggering. Another option is to look for fuses to the alarm to see if that helps get you to charge. If the alarm goes off when you hook things back up, you can try locking/unlocking the doors 5x with the fob, and if that doesn't work, repeat the lock/unlock 5x with the drivers door key.
Do you have any fault codes that point to the alarm module needing service? There's a small rechargeable battery in the alarm module that may have failed (not common but possible).
Once you are fully charged, next step is to find the source of the current drain. This requires a current meter to measure the current out of the battery with the car off. Not sure of the expected amount but I'd expect it to be in the 20mA range (to power things like the clock and other "keep alive" circuits). Certainly if you are over 50 you will drain the battery in a few days. First step is to measure battery voltage. If you've charged it and it still shows something under 12.2V, you need a new battery. An 80% charged battery will be about 12.6V so anything over is a good sign.
Now hook up your current meter. If your parasitic draw is over 25mA, start pulling fuses to see which circuit is in play. Start with the common things like vanity lights, lighter outlet, radio etc. You should be able to quickly find where the juice is going and proceed from there.

Hi just wondering if you found your issue? I am having a similar issue with a 2011 XC60. I'm not worried about the alarm, the concern is that their is no juice reaching the electronics after recharging or trying to start with a backup booster battery.
