Default Ccm

Hi. New member here. I tried to search for this, but couldn't find anything. The **** that controls the fan for my CCM is not responding. It's in the on position and works, but I can't control the fan speed or turn it off. Can this be repaired or do I need a new CCM? And does the CCM have to match exactly the buttons I currently have? Can the buttons be transferred to the new CCM? I can't find an exact match when I search for one. If I find a used CCM that matches most of the buttons, will those that match work and the one that doesn't match will simply not work?
Thanks for any help. I really appreciate it.

How old is the car in question? The single speed that you are experiencing could also be a sign that the blower motor resistor has failed. This is located in the AC/Heater box on the passenger side behind the glove box. Do a search on the resistor. I think that you can test voltage being sent to the blower motor at the relevant fuse as you cycle the switch - those with greater knowledge can chime in. This would enable isolating the problem before you have to get into the blower motor/resistor housing.

It's a 2007. I've read in other places about a problem with the resistor. That's a good thought. Thank you. I should add that for a while, I was able to control the fan speed, but not able to turn it all the way to off.
