Unhappy CCruise Control Button seems to work but no Function?

Hello Guys!

Im new here and im quite clueless if whatever i "use" cruise control wrong or it has a fault.

Problem described:

One Month ago, I bought a XC90 D5 AWD Diesel 2003 Manual of my Uncle, it's definitely a very nice car. I noticed later on the Cruise Control wasn't working.

So I replaced the clutch Pedal Sensor, and rewired the Wires to it, they were broken. Now with the new Sensor, the Cruise Control is able to be turned on.

I have no more Engine Error or something like that. (Thats what I had before)
Today I was curios what "Functions" this gives me now,

1. Clicked the Cruise control button In
2. Light turned on on the Dashboard "Cruise"
3. Drove 50Km/h and pressed +

Nothing happens? why is that so? If I'm not thinking wrong, I read that if the Brake Pedal Sensor wasnt working, Cruise wouldn't even go on. It just seems that there is no error whatsoever.

Am I using the Cruise Button "wrong"? Do I need to push the Button back so its centered? Because I saw that in some Youtube Video. The Guy said, "you need to push it back to center" or something.

I'm not quite sure what the Problem is, the Cruise Button seems to work perfectly, but there is absolutely no Function, I did also try the - Button, also no Function, so Cruise comes on but there is no diffrence, the car is not accelerating or anything.

I would very appreciate if someone of you Guys could help me Out!
I didn't find any other Post describing what I have.

Not sure of the exact design for your model, but all cruise control systems are tied to the brake position sensor (tap brakes deactivates the control). If you turn the cruise control on, you need to follow the Owners manual guide to set the speed (can be almost any speed above 22 mph, not just a specific number).

Here's the US XC90 Manual's page: https://volvo.custhelp.com/app/manua...nual/om_id/698 Are your control buttons on the left side of the steering wheel? If so it should be the same

1) select cruise
2) CRUISE should appear lit on the left side of the speedo
3) select + or - to select road speed
4) if you tap the brakes it will disengage. Select "resume" will restart at the last used road speed (until you turn off cruise or turn off the car).

So if that's not working, it could be the brakes, the steering wheel (buttons/connections etc) or the controller.
