I was hoping that someone could tell me what this small "vent" is above the temperature control in the center console of my xc90. There was a small piece of lint hanging out so I pulled it and looks as if it broke the small copper wire inside. Thanks in advance.

If you replace the dash control unit, does it require a software download? Or does anyone know the value of that thermistor and weather it is a negative or positive coefficient device?
