Is Certified Pre-owned that important?
Hi all. It is time for a new vehicle and I love the looks and the drive of the CX90. We would prefer not to buy new. If we were to buy a used CX90, how important is it to get a Certified Pre-owned? They seem few and hard to come by but is it worth the wait to find one? And the extra cost?
Thanks!
Thanks!
I would not concentrate on the cert/pre thing, personally I feel it can be over-hyped. That whole thing is dependant on the dealership and can vary. I have heard of several issues with cert/pre vehicles (different makes)that should have either been flagged or already taked care of.
I would look for one with lower mileswith remaining factory warranty. If there are issues you will be covered. Good luck.....

Yes, for a Volvo it is. I would look for a Certified Pre-Owned that still has factory warranty. So once the factory warranty runs out the certified warranty kick in. The Certified Pre-Owned warranty cover major components like transmission, radiators, a/c compressor etc. They only thing it does not cover is wear and tear items. But note you must buy a certified pre-owned vehicle from a Volvo dealership.
From what I understand, the CPO Warranty is good for 6yr from the original sales date of the car when it was new. You already get 4 yrs free warranty from new, so the CPO only adds 2 yrs.
