Dipstick Removal

Hello All,
I have a XC90 T6. I recently took it in to my local repair shop for an oil change and new brakes. Did a great job as usual. However, the plastic **** on the engine oil dipstick broke off, leaving the dipstick in the dipstick tube. When they attenpted to exrtract the stick they pushed it deeper into the tube. I need to drive this thing 16 hours to Thanksgiving dinner.
I have a couple of questions:
[ul][*]How do we get the stick out of the tube?[*]If I leave it there until after Thanksgiving (and my long drive), is there any chance that the stick could interfere with engine operation or, worse, is there any chance of a massive oil leak with oil coming up the tube?[/ul]
Any insights?
Thanks.
Patrick

I would be a bit dissapointed with theservice at that shop. DId you ask them these same questions? I would think it would be alright todrive.I am not sure how to get it out.
Just a thought, maybe the dipstick holder is threaded into the block and can be removed along with the broken piece. I would not think that the holder is a permant fixture.
