Flushing Brakes - How much fluid?
I'm going to flush the brakes on my '08 XC90 in the next couple of weeks. Looking at ipd, they sell the fluid in 1 liter containers. One liter should be enough to completely flush out and fill the fluid, right?
My brakes have obviously worn since new and as a result, the fluid is lower in the master cylinder. When flushing, anything wrong with filling back up to where the current brake fluid level is?
Thanks!
Craig

you got it, I always keep extra on hand, (just did three vehicles and bougt four liters) if fluid is required for service between exchanges then you have matching fluid, and yes keep it at same level. Happy Volvoing
I bought a Motive power bleeder, it is worth it's weight in gold
(IPD and FCP have them), other than that all you need is a pan to drain into (or a Motive catch bottle) and what ever size box wrench your bleeder screws are, mine are 11mm. A turkey baster helps (dont take your wives, they get mad
). An easy job and even if you buy the Motive, youll still save money by DIY.

I'm now going to buy the Motive bleeder.

Huh, I have a 1 gallon from walmart (4 or 5 years old), that I think I paid 9 bucks for...maybe an option. But the Motive price doeas include the adapter that will fit your Volvo, and adapters are availble for others, I bought the adapter for my Chevy/GMs as well
