Used 2004 XC90 - Shoud I buy?!?
All,
I have the opportunity to buy a 2004 XC90 for $7700. It's a fully loaded XC90 T6 with 3rd row of seats (1 owner).
The car drives nice, but the transmission is showing signs of death (car has 108K and has never had the trans replaced).
The body is "ok" for a 7 year old car (some scratches and dings), but overall its a decent car.
What are your thoughts?

It stutters every now and again on take off. It's intermittent. I had it checked out by a shop.
I ended up buying it, car runs great and looks nice. I got an estimate from a trans shop and they quoted my $2000. I figure I will ride it out until it dies and take it in to be rebuilt. With any used car you will have to put some money into it. My other choice was a 2005 MB ML-500 with 90K ($13K) or MB ML-320 ($15K) with 60K.
I read that those cars also have issues so figured I would be out of money either way. For $7700 I couldn't beat that for a 1 owner car.
