Unhappy How to replace Brake Vacuum Switch.

How do I replace a brake vacuum switch (part No. 31400608) in a 2004 Volvo xc90 T6 without replacing the three (3) connected hoses?

The switch split in half. The top with the electrical switch broke away from the valve body where the hoses are connected. I have considered replacing the entire switch but I don't want to replace the hoses or cut them. And I have considered splitting the new switch in half and re-attaching the new half to the old base that is already connected to the hoses.

What do you recommend? Is there a trick for removal and reusing the hoses?

Thank you. - Urgent and Overwhelmed. The car cannot be operated so I hope to have an answer soon.

Pull the hoses off and reconnect to the new one.

They won't pull off. I think I'll have to cut them. Is there a trick or lube?

The fittings are ******, so they don't pull off easily. Try twisting and pulling. I've never had to cut any off.

Edit- Apparently b-a-r-b-e-d is a word that is offensive, as it automatically censors it.
