Introduction and Question
Hello,
I'm Shannon (male) and I poked my head around Swedespeed a few years ago when I had an 850 wagon.
I just picked up a '04 XC90 2.5T AWD as a travel car for our family. We love the vehicle thus and look forward to many good years. Only plans I have are light suspension (bigger, wider wheels), downpipe, exhaust and tune to make the car a little different and enjoyable on our trips.
My question: My XC has different color woods throughout. The front and rear cup holders along with the rear ashtray are a darker wood than the gear shift surround and glove box wood. Can anyone tell me where I could pick up the darker wood gear selector and glove box pieces?
Here are a few pics:

XC90 can be made to be as sexy as any of its competitors, here's mine....
It happened quite a few times that other XC90 owners have fallowed me in a parking lot or waited for me to come out of a store to ask how the heck I made mine look so different than theirs.....
Answer..... a bit of imagination and 20 inch wheels
As for your wood, I say the darker is a kit......

we bought a similar car a year ago (2004 XC90 2.5T AWD). The wood around the gearshift stick is the same dark colour as the one on the cup holder. We are in Australia, so the steering wheel is on the right. But the gearshift is identical to the one in your picture.
I wonder how much you had to pay for the car. Here in Australia, the 6-cylinder model was priced higher when the car was new, and people are still asking higher prices for it on the second-hand market. This despite expert opinion which often gives higher marks to the 5-cylinder model.
When new, the XC90 had a price of $70K for 5-cylinder and $75K for 6-cylinder. These were the prices in 2004, and are still the same in 2013. The figures are in australian dollars, and may look extremely high to you, considering the AUD being stronger than the USD these days. But more and more people can afford a Volvo, so we don't complain over here.
I paid $19,200 for mine, in February 2012. The car was advertised as a 2004 model. I only noticed recently that the plate is dated December 2003, when it was made in Sweden. So, the car sold for less than a third of its original price, after 8 years on the road.
When the owner gave me the keys for the first test-drive, I opened the door and the inner handle came off. First impressions do matter when you are haggling-
Otherwise, the car has been perfect so far.
We are not stuck up in luxury, but the options seem to be practical. My wife loves the Bluetooth which allows her to take calls on the road (after market, dealer fitted). The rear-assist is great when driving backwards. And we always flip in the mirrors, because we park in a narrow driveway.

The mystery continues! At least now my wife no longer thinks ours was reassembled from odd parts! The whole interior is multi colored. We just purchased our first Volvo,
it is an 07 xc90 3.2 awd 88,000 miles. At 15,000 USD I believe that to be also 1/3rd of
the original price for a 6 yr. old. I think we did pretty good.
