Default Leak detection pump location?

Has anyone replaced this leak detection pump, and can give me some guidance on how to get to it? I've read its mounted on the subframe near the rear left tire.

One thread I read said that they went through an access cover underneath the rear seat, and were able to replace the pump that way.

Another site I saw provided some generic instructions for all volvos, which included removing a portion of the exhaust, removing the left rear wheel, and removing a cover plate by drilling out rivets. I'm doing this for a friends car, and just don't want to be doing unnecessary part removal if I can get easy access to it some other way.

Thanks in advance,
Kevin

First things first, it is not accessible for inside the car.
The pump is located on top of the rear subframe. Kind of a pain the *** because to have to take off quite a bit to get it out. There are going to be 2 or 3 10mm bolts that hold he canister onto the subframe. Remove those and I just manage to pull the canister towards the front of the car far enough to get to the 3 t25 that hold the pump to the bracket

OK, so you're saying the exhaust, heat shield, Left Rear tire, and (charcoal?) canister need to come off to get at the pump on the upper side of the frame rail? What a pain, someone else said they did it in 45 minutes! Maybe after a little practice?!

According to Volvo all of that stuff needs to come off. But once again I just take the 10 mm holds for the canister and the pull it far enough to expose the 3 T25s

Im sorry, I don't quite understand if you're saying that you DON'T have to take all that other stuff off.

Have you been able to only unbolt the canister (leaving everything else in place) and push the canister far enough out of the way to get to the torx screws holding the pump in place?

Heres a posible fix I've never seen. I own a 2008 C70 that the check eng light came on, it was checked and found it to be becase of a faulty fuel vapor detection pump. Since it was expensive to fix i have been driving around with it on for several months, but had the check engine lght cleared a couple times but always comes back. Now today i take it through an automaic car was which i have before, but this one i notice sprays high pressure water straight up under the car as i drive in. Well, after the wash is ifnished i start the car up and the check engine light does NOT come on and remains off so far since starting the car up several more times. Feel free to add your theory, as i have my own.

Washing your car will not fix a check engine light.

I had a gross evap leak and need to know where it was.I suspected it is behind the rear wheel liner on the passenger side but I didn't want to rip out the liner unless I was sure. Then i googled and find Slab Leak Detection service.I was very much impressed by seeing 412 reviews about their service.I called them and they would visit my home within time and resolve the issue of my gross evap leaking.
