For anyone who has the RSE package and their remote is still working, when you press the power up button, does the infrared light actually illuminate?

Our system is DEAD. I check the fuses in the rear, both appeared fine but I changed them anyway. I also discovered that there is a 4amp fuse on the DVD player itself and I changed that one as well. I am guessing that the DVD player is a generic one as it has output RCA jacks on the back of it and that makes no sense since it in enclosed in the counsel and there is no access to them.

Best I can tell the only way to get a replacement remote is thru the dealer unless anyone has discovered an outlet that I could not find. I have spent a few hours in the internet searching and have come up with little so far, except that this seems to happen often with our XC90's.
