Default Need remote start

It is starting to get cold in the Northeast and I want to get a remote start installed in my 2008 XC90. Does Volvo have one? I really dont care about the brand as long as it integrates with the existing Key FOB, etc. What do you use? What can I expect to pay for this?

Is this fully integrated into the fob? My Dealership was charging just over $1000 for a warrantied remote start.

Is that question directed to me or the OP?

Stealership charges $1000 because their hands are in the cookie jar and its called mark up.

I was asking you. I understand the dealership will mark up significantly, but their reasoning was twofold: it is difficult to get a true remote start without a key in the ignition, and that it is integrated into the fob. I don't do remote starts, and am new to volvo, so I have little knowledge to refute this.

I know that you are too far away for me to consider the job, but if an independant can do it easily, then I would look around here.

problem will be, #1 they WILL set off the srs service message urgent. prepare them for $100+ for the dealer to reset it. besides that, its really straight foward
